Sarah meets Hounslow Manor School pupils and their petition for EU action on Darfur

Young students from Hounslow Manor School have visited London MEP Sarah Ludford to present a visual petition calling on the EU to do more to tackle crisis in Darfur.

Commenting on the petition Sarah Ludford MEP, Liberal Democrat European justice & human rights spokeswoman said:

"I am delighted to have been able to greet youngsters from Hounslow Manor School and I back efforts to persuade the EU that more must be done to seek justice in Darfur. Their petition raises very important issues surrounding the current situation in Darfur especially as fresh controversy ignites over the indictment of Omar Bashir"

"The International Criminal Court's chief prosecutor has accused Omar Bashir of controlling attacks on civilians and his indictment must be allowed to progress. I am a firm believer that political diplomacy must not supersede the pursuit of justice for victims."
