Sarah attends Kurdish Fundraising Concert at Hackney Ocean

Sarah Ludford was pleased to attend a concert held at the Hackney Ocean and hosted by the Halkevi Kurdish and Turkish Community Centre to raise funds for their new building in Dalston. Sarah has long worked with Halkevi, which serves the needs of the Kurdish and Turkish speaking communities in London, and its energetic chairman Ibrahim Dogus with whom she is pictured. Sarah works with commitment on Turkish and Kurdish human rights and democracy issues and is very supportive of Turkey's EU accession. She believes that a political solution to the Kurdish question in Turkey is the only way forward and will continue to urge her colleagues in the EU to ensure that the rights of the Kurdish Turkish community are promoted in Turkey's EU accession negotiations.
