Sarah Ludford MEP

Sitting ducks for a rip-off

Speech by Baroness Sarah Ludford MEP delivered to Kerrang! Radio on Wed 5th Oct 2005

iPod owners here do seem to be paying about 20% over the odds, and that would look like we're sitting ducks for a rip-off. It's similar to when car manufacturers used to stop British customers going abroad to get cheaper cars. They seem to be doing a similar thing - keeping us in the British market when customers in Europe are getting a better deal. We're paying about 20% more than the French and the Germans. I really hope that the European Commission, if they do find that it's a breach of Competition law, that they come down hard on Apple.
